which has become an annual event at Uchicago. He is continuing his training
in Mridangam under eminent percussionist Shri. T. H. Subash Chandran.
Govind

performer and volunteer in the Greater Puget Sound area’s carnatic music
scene since his joining Microsoft. He was invited to participate in
Thyagaraja Festival by ACME. He accompanied Shri. Immaneni Ashok and
Shri. Arijit Mahanabalis in a concert for Ragamala. He performed Thala
Vadhya Katcheri at Vancouver SAPASA, B.C. which was the highlight of
their Thyagaraja Aradhana 2002. He performed in multiple concerts at NWFolkLife
Music festival ’03 in Seattle. He has recorded music with for Srishti.
Govind plays the Kanjira as well.

Special Thanks to Govind Ramanthan from Srishti for Arangetram of
Surya and Minnu Kotha!
“Govind Ramanathan on Mridangam was Superb! After every Jathi in the Varnam, the
synchronization between his mridangam, Adhithi’s nattuvangam and the dancers’
feet was excellent, and the applause after each of these was well deserved…
the thillana saw the height of synchronization…
- Sundaram & Shri Sundaram
“… the program reminded me of my Kalakshetra days… stunning
synchronization…”
